happy anniversary robert+alena :: greensboro wedding photographer

I am so happy to wish Alena and Robert a very happy first wedding anniversary today! Their beautiful Greensboro wedding was full of coral details, and her shoes are still one of my all-time favorites. Check out the memories from their day, put together by the fabulous planning mastermind at Behind the Scenes, Inc., here.

Wishing the two of you all the best and many, many, many more years of marital bliss!

ashley :: bridal portraits :: high point wedding photographer

Ashley is probably one of the most lovely, kind, and talented young ladies I have ever met. She sings, she dances, and now, she's a schoolteacher, too. She and her new husband, Evan, found me earlier this year in their search for a wedding photographer, and I'm so glad they did! They were married this past Saturday at a beautiful ceremony at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, followed by a reception at Cardinal Country Club in Greensboro.

I met up with Ashley and her sweet mama, Connie, and sister, Kelly (by far one of the best maids of honor I've ever seen... she did everything she could to make sure her sister's bride experience was a perfect one and owned that MOH title!) a few weeks ago at a beautiful farm property out in the back roads of High Point, NC for Ashley's bridal portraits. Ashley was such a trooper trampling through the fields in her wedding dress and willing to do anything to get an amazing shot.

Ahhh... I am just in love with this session. It's so romantic, and Ashley was the PERFECT subject!

I love these crochet Toms... aren't they just adorable??

Isn't she just gorgeous?! Seriously Ashley... you look STUNNING!

Watch out for photos from Evan+Ashley's big day on the blog later this week!

adam+lily :: engaged :: mississippi engagement photographer

I've known Adam since I started going to St. John's Day School in the 5th grade. Back in those days, I was terribly shy (my how the times have changed) and the new kid in school, but once I got to high school, Adam and I became good friends, and I'm thankful to have him on my short list of people I still catch up with on a regular basis. We share the same sarcastic sense of humor (he may even be a bit alot worse than me), and being the AMAZING artist he is (seriously, check out his work), he's a great sounding board for my own crazy creative endeavors.

Adam and Lily were introduced last year by a mutual friend who just knew they'd be perfect for each other. They were both living in Alabama, she in Birmingham and he on a sailboat in Fairhope, when they started dating and it didn't take long for them to realize that they should be together... forever.

I've never really been able to imagine what kind of girl Adam would end up marrying, but it was completely obvious when I met Lily this weekend that she's the kind of girl Adam needs in his life. She's kind, funny, and chatted it up with me and Miranda (my dear friend and assistant for the weekend) like we'd known each other forever (we're all best friends now, in case you were wondering). She and Adam are all smiles and laughs when they're together, and they have that kind of easy, comfortable love that usually evolves only after years of being with each other.

I had so much fun with them at their beautiful new home in historic downtown Laurel (their decor is GORGEOUS and definitely belongs in the pages of Better Homes and Gardens) and of course, on Adam's sailboat... I threatened to throw a full-on-kicking-screaming-crying temper tantrum if I didn't get to photograph them on the boat, so they obliged :)

Aren't they just perfect?! I may or may not have gotten a little teary eyed just looking through their images... be prepared for the waterworks on wedding day, folks.

A tiny peek at their lovely wedding invitations designed by the incredible, internationally-recognized Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence based in my little hometown.

My goodness Lily, you are simply STUNNING. Seriously though... you could be a model.

Adam+Lily :: Thank you for being such awesome friends and giving me a place to stay while in Laurel :) I am so honored to be the one to document this very exciting time in your lives, and I can't wait to see you again at your WEDDING (ahhhh!!!) in just a few weeks! Love to you both!!!
